The APPTS 4th National General Assembly AND 'Buhay KaPTan KaPTkamay, Ka PT, KaPTbisig 2013' Leadership Training seminar was held at Our Lady of Fatima University-Antipolo on July 6. We, the Far Eastern University-Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation PTSC members (Aldwin, Ramon, Jihan ,and I), attended the seminar.  It was my first time to attend the APPTS NAT. general assembly and the leadership training program. The Leadership Training was led by the Ayala-Young-leaders.

We left around 7am from Fairview Q.C and arrived at OLFU-Antipolo around 8:30am that day. We met Dawn Garela at OLFU-Antipolo, she is currently studying at University of Santo Tomas where she is currently a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy student. She is also one of our Student Council presidents’ friend, Ramon Mejia.
As soon as we arrived at the OLFU-Antipolo AVR where the seminar took place, it shocked me to see a lot of students coming from different schools. Some were from PLM,University of Batangas, OLFU-Valenzuela, and many more.
The assembly helped me gain new friends from different universities with the same program I am taking up.

APPTS conducted several activities explaining what they would want for the future of the physical therapists.

The leadership training was a fun way to learn a lot of things on how to become a true leader.  One story was told to us was about two caterpillars named “Yellow” and “Stripe”. They correlated the story on how to become a leader. The Caterpillars’ trials and pain in the story illustrated the reality of todays’ world to us. We need to become patient and learn to decide for our own and for the people around us, the ability to sacrifice and learn from our mistakes.  It calls the attention on bringing the best out of us and in everyone around us.

We had some team building activities that tested us if we had the abilities of a true leader and a true follower. One thing we truly learned is that we all have to work together in order to achieve a GOAL.
I would like to thank the APPTS on conducting such a successful program, and will surely continue to support the APPTS.

It was such a great learning experience to participate in the program.
